Why Hire an Attorney to Build Your Site
You can just about turn the corner in Minneapolis or St. Paul and trip over more Web designers than you can possibly need. Some are expensive. Some are bargains. But how many of them offer anything beyond a pretty cover?
Consider this:
- A graduate school trained Web designer
- A professional writer
- A professional editor
- A licensed, practicing attorney
Most Web developers can offer you one or two of these qualifications. Some can even offer three. Almost none offer you all four, and in the Twin Cities only one offers you all four qualifications in one person. Me.
I am a former editor for the largest provider of lawyer marketing Web sites. I played an integral role in developing Web content for approximately 600 attorney advertising Web sites during my tenure as an attorney/editor. Before heading to law school, I studied technical communication and Web development in graduate school.
I have a unique understanding of what lawyer marketing needs and what potential it has.
This is all well and good, but I am usually more impressed by people who show instead of just tell.
Following that philosophy, let me show you my own Web site:
Patrick K. Oden, Attorney at Law (opens in a new window)
I don't expect you to read every word. It runs more than 25,000 words of unique content and more than 50,000 words in total.
Overall, I like the design. Some don't. I'm fine with that. It's impossible to construct a Web site that will please everyone. But design is just the icing on the cake. There is a reason for the phrase: Content is king.
Still, this design reflects several important elements that you might like in your site. Below are examples of my work. Most in demand are Flash movies. You will find that most Web developers charge a premium for Flash.
In addition to Flash, I can embed short videos or audio tracks on your site. |
